Jeremy Quinn - Director of Education

IN THE NEWS

[
TM ]  Ashanti Should've Met Jeremy Quinn - Peter Filichia's Diary - June 22, 2009

Ashanti, God love her, is trying to be a good Dorothy in The Wiz at Encores! Summer Stars Series. She's really doing her best. She should have gone to an acting school, that seems clear—and that's where Jeremy Quinn comes in. He's the director of education at the White Plains Performing Arts Center.

The White Plains Performing Arts Center Conservatory Theatre is a professional training program for theatrical artists between the ages of 10 – 22+, offered year-round at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. The mission of our programs is to provide the community with the highest-quality, most professional training in all aspects of theatre arts at our state-of-the-art facility in downtown White Plains.

A Superior Choice In Performing Arts Education

• Professional training and proper technique with a focus on the artistic process as well as the end result

• "Learning By Doing" approach within the infrastructure of creative accomplishment that takes student on a hands-on journey; learning as they go about: character development, objectives, script analysis, music theory, safe/healthy vocal technique, projection & diction, movement and the physical/emotional development of a character as well as the business of "The Biz".

• Highly qualified teaching artists and staff with credits from Broadway, Off-Broadway, National Tours, Regional Theatre, Film, Television, Commercials and Voice-Overs

• Industry Guests including agents, managers, casting directors, designers and stage managers

• Smaller cast and class sizes to insure more individualized attention

• Empowerment to build self-confidence, poise, positive self-esteem, self-discipline and ensemble player attitude

• Commitment to providing students with social and educational opportunities where artistic integrity is the main goal; grounded in a disciplined and nurturing environment.

Whether a student is exploring the world of performing for the first time or is seeking more comprehensive, accurate training; we are Westchester’s premier resource for theatrical education. Participants come from all over the Tri-State area to explore their creative talents and discover their artistic potential. Even if someone has no desire to pursue a professional career in the entertainment industry, what we provide for everyone, is the opportunity to learn and grow as a well-rounded, interesting and productive human being who lives in a world of creative possibility.

From dynamic workshops with industry professionals, to top-notch, superior quality productions in the Fall, Winter and Spring as well as an all-inclusive Summer Theatre program, the conservatory is seeking to meet the artistic and educational needs of all young theatre artists including actors, directors, playwrights, designers, stage managers and budding young producers. "No one left behind, indeed!"

Students will have opportunities to focus on proper, method-based technique, within a unified professional approach, learning their craft from those who do it every day...taking them from wherever they're at in their theatrical development and expanding their horizons with limitless possibilities.
