Shakespeare Workshop
taught by Jan Neuberger

In tandem with our recent production of ALL SHOOK UP which is loosely based on Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT, the cast was fortunate enough to take part in a Shakespeare acting workshop with veteran Broadway actress Jan Neuberger, a member of the original cast of WICKED, as well as original Broadway casts of HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS (Grandma Who); BIG (Miss Watson); A CHANGE IN THE HEIR (Martha); and the 1974 revival of GYPSY. Jan is familiar to WPPAC audiences from her “triple-play” as “Mrs. Sowerberry”, “Mrs. Bedwin”, and “Old Sally” in last fall’s OLIVER! It was a fantastic opportunity for participants to get the correlation between the two scripts and discover that Shakespeare is not only easy to perform, but also an extremely interesting challenge.
